In September 2000, through the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority, a foundation stage for children aged three up to the end of the reception year was successfully introduced. To compliment the guidelines laid out in the early years curriculum, Playscheme has developed a range of equipment specifically designed to aid children's development within this age range.

Among the range of safety surfaces we offer at Playscheme is the wetpour rubber safety surface which we recommend for foundation stage equipment and nurseries. Available in a wide range of colours which can be used in almost any design, wetpour compliments any play equipment when used creatively, increasing play value.

Popular within our nursery range, our Timber Fort design is a low-level piece of equipment with minimal fall height. Three towers are installed at ground level. Connected with a tunnel and bow bridge the timber fort provides different play spaces to encourage both physical and creative development for early years children. The low-level, open design also means that the children are easily visible to supervisors.

We also recommend the installation of fencing around foundation stage play areas for safety and offer several solutions. Our most popular fencing however, is our paled half-round timber fence which naturally compliments our timber equipment to provide a uniform look.
