Our team braved the coastal elements to install lots of play equipment at North Yorkshire holiday village The Bay, Filey over the Christmas period. We were tasked with creating a play area suitable for all ages, and we did just that!
Battling the elements!
It’s never easy installing in cold and wet conditions, and the coastal position of The Bay didn’t exactly help, but we got the job done at a quiet time of year so that the site can fully dry out ready for the Easter holidays.
We even made sure to lay honeycomb lawn matting to prevent wear to the grass and prevent it from becoming muddy underfoot!
Utilising our Robinia stock
We used our beautiful robinia timber for this project, instead of our renowned radiata pine. It was more challenging to move and carry – and we went through a fair few drill bits!
But the finished result is a play area that will catch the eye of children and grown ups alike.
The install included a nest swing, ramshamble tower, junior/senior swing and adventure trail. We can’t wait to see the play area in full use in the summer!
